APS3 Accounts Administrator This candidate is immediately available but would be keen to start work beginning of September as his wife is about to have their first baby in August. He has recently sold his small business, about 2 weeks ago which he and his wife ran for approx 5 years. They have sold so he can focus on getting an office role in finance and accounting and the business sale has given him a financial buffer to seek this sort of work. He ran the books for this business so has accounts processing skills and a good understanding of GST. In his other roles he has developed excellent administration skills and some finance skills as well. He did start a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management in 1994 and completed Accounting, Economics, Info Systems and Business Maths modules with good results. He would be interested in updating his accounting studies at CIT and then go on to finish his degree - probably once he's secured permanent employment in a govt dept. He presents and communicates well. He has a can-do attitude and would be a friendly and helpful member of any team who would quickly pick up on whatever is needed of him. |

As far as education goes he is currently undertaking his Diploma of Financial Services with no impact on working hours. He has also completed his Bachelor of Applied Economics (attaining Distinction average)/Bachelor of Management (double degree) at the University of Canberra in November 2006. His experience mainly consists of an ASO4 (approx APS5 level) role with and ACT Department where he was on a Graduate Program in a Financial Analyst position. He left this role to start up his own business as a Professional Trader. This business took a great deal of time and focus to set up but now it runs with quite a lot less attention, as such he is now looking for full time employment and happy with contracts of any length. He is seeking a role that has more of a focus on policy and analysis work rather than strict number crunching but is happy to do an accounting role that may lead into other areas. |
